I was going to start an infrared sauna regimen to try to get some toxins out of my body from years of smoking, drinking a lot of alcohol, and consuming a lot of junk.
My question is, does all the sweating also make you lose essential vitamins and minerals, crucial to health? I know you lose water and sodium, which is why you have to stay hydrated. And sodium is an essential mineral. Would you need to take extra vitamins to supplement your sauna regimen? How does the body choose what gets sweat out and what doesn't?
